Kings Dominion to Debut New Taste of Virginia Food Festival May 6th

Fans of Kings Dominion have an exciting new reason to visit the theme park starting May 6th when Taste Of Virginia, a new food, beverage and music festival, begins.

If the festival has been modeled after the successful festival held at sister park Carowinds, then visitors have a lot of fun and tasty food to look forward to.

The event will celebrate the tastes that can be found throughout the state of Virginia, where Kings Dominion calls home, stretching through different regions and culinary styles to give guests a wide variety of offerings.

It will feature food that is from 5 different regions of Virginia: Tidewater, Chesapeake, Blue Ridge Mountains, Colonial and Piedmont, with each area offering unique food that fits the area's traditional dishes.  Some of the menu items include items such as a sweet potato and roast duck popover from the Colonial stand, and crispy crab cakes from the Chesapeake stand, naturally.  Visitors will be able to purchase tokens that can be used to try their favorite dishes at all the stands.

Taste Of Virginia will also feature spirits, beer and wine from local distilleries, craft brew houses and vineyards - also representing the different regions of the state.  There will be plenty of live entertainment, along with appearances from Chef Damaris Phillips and moonshiner Tim Smith.

For more information on the event, check out the official Kings Dominion website.
