May 2010 Poll Results

During May I queried you guys to see which currently operating U.S. racing wooden coaster was your favorite. Our winner was Lightning Racer, located at Hershey Park, with just over 30% of the total votes.

The Great Coasters International designed ride has been popular since it's debut back in 2000. You won't find much straight track on this ride either, as the trains slither their way through the course.

The Racer at Kings Island came in second place, with about 21% of the votes. The Racer opened in 1972 and has given a staggering 93+ million rides since it's debut, and it was featured on the Brady Bunch!

Same name different park - The Racer at Kennywood finished third, with 19% of the vote. This ride dates all the way back to 1927, when John Miller designed the ride for the park. It's also unique in that it's a mobius, or continuous track coaster.

I'll let you review the rest of the results above, but will point out that Rolling Thunder beat out both Colossus and Le Monstre! Hmm!
